Prompt! Speech Applications
Prompt! bvba, based in Dilbeek near Brussels, Belgium, was founded in 1999. The company initially focused on interaction design for information systems. In the summer of 2004, its main activity has shifted to the development and exploitation of speech-driven phone applications.
Frederik Durant (° Brussels, 1968) holds an M.A. in Romance
Philology, and an M.Sc. in Computer Science, both from the University of Leuven, Belgium (1990 & 1995). In
2004, he earned an MBA degree from Vlerick Leuven Gent
Management School. Frederik has more
than 10 years experience as a software developer, project leader and
manager in the field of language, speech and Internet technology.
He worked successively for Siemens Nixdorf, Allmansland, Lernout
& Hauspie Speech Products, and Tellme Networks Europe (MagicPhone). Finally, he also
worked at the Language Technology Centre of the
University of Antwerp.
Frederik maintains a weblog on self-service phone applications in and around Belgium.
Prompt! Speech Applications is a member of ContactCentres.be, the professional association of contact centres in Belgium. From July 2005 until February 2007, Frederik Durant served as chairman of CC.be's Speech Technology Workgroup.
